On October 17, SiCRED took part in the 7th edition of “Giving Circles Albania”, organized by Partners Albania, an initiative that brings together individuals, businesses, and civil society organizations to support causes with a sustainable impact on communities.
This year, participants were introduced to three inspiring causes aiming to create positive change in the areas of Mat, Dibër, and Korçë.
One of the projects SiCRED chose to support was “MALGA – Mal, Gur, Ajër” (Mountain, Stone, Air), an initiative of Network Albania Center, which seeks to regenerate the Lurë–Deja Mountain National Park, an area damaged over the years by deforestation and fires. The project will be implemented through the Fukuoka method, a nature-friendly planting technique using “seed balls” to restore greenery and biodiversity in the park.
In its first phase, the project aims to plant 75,000 seed balls across 30 hectares of land, with the active involvement of the local community and youth. Beyond its environmental benefits, the initiative also aims to raise public awareness about nature protection and to create a sustainable model of Nature-Based Solutions in Albania.
SiCRED’s participation in this initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable development and social inclusion, standing by initiatives that contribute to the well-being of communities and the protection of the environment.
